Delphi Construction Joins Acton Housing Authority to Celebrate the Groundbreaking of McManus Manor

Waltham, MA —July 2025 — Delphi Construction joined with the Acton Housing Authority and members of the local community to commemorate the groundbreaking of McManus Manor, a 41-unit senior housing development named in honor of the late Betty McManus, a tireless advocate for affordable housing in Acton.

The event was filled with heartfelt tributes and stories celebrating Betty McManus’s enduring legacy. For over 25 years, Betty served as the guiding force behind the Acton Community Housing Corporation and as director of the Acton Housing Authority, where she helped create more than 500 affordable housing units for low-income seniors, families, and people with disabilities.

“This project is about honoring a woman who helped shape this town through her commitment to affordable housing and helping others,” said Kelley Cronin, Executive Director of the Acton Housing Authority. “We’re thankful for the opportunity to name this project after someone that embodies the care and dedication Betty poured into this community.”

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Betty’s family, local officials, Secretary Ed Augustus, representatives from Winslow Architects, and others who helped bring the project to life. Each speaker reflected on Betty’s warmth, wit, and unrelenting drive to create equitable housing solutions.

“We are grateful to be working with Acton Housing Authority, Stone Soup Collaborative, and Winslow Architects on this project.  It is a great fit for our experience in multi family senior housing along with our success in building Passive House projects,” said Corey Heaslip, Vice President of Project Development at Delphi Construction.

McManus Manor continues Acton’s leadership in addressing affordable housing needs, and stands as one of the latest examples of the town’s commitment to housing equity. The new facility is designed to Phius standards, emphasizing energy efficiency, long-term sustainability, and resident comfort.
