About Dartmouth Police Station
Construction of a new 23,800 sq.ft. police facility with a separate pre-engineered metal storage building. This wood framed and masonry clad two-story building includes reception area, the town’s 911 dispatch center, meeting rooms, police offices and conference rooms, break rooms, an armory and detention area as well as an enclosed Sallie-port and transfer area. Finishes included millwork, casework, resilient, carpet, ceramic flooring and painting. Police specialties included cell doors, detention area metal plank ceilings, bullet resistant glazing, gun and evidence lockers. Design decisions were made to ensure easy upgrades to accommodate growth. Locker rooms — the most difficult to expand — have more lockers than officers, and an unfinished attic could add up to 3,000 square feet of additional office space if needed in the future.
