Needham Bank
- Needham, MA
Project Overview
When Needham Bank decided to renovate and expand their existing corporate headquarters, they selected Delphi Construction for our experience in phased, occupied construction. This challenging project involved several phases of work to construct a 2-story addition that infills and expands behind the existing combined structures. The original structures were once adjacent buildings separated by an alley, which was built over during a previous renovation. The age, condition and orientation of these various past structures created a significant structural and construction challenge for this expansion project. Adding to the complexity, Needham Bank maintained full corporate operations throughout construction. Delphi’s extensive experience in phased construction of occupied structures was the key to completing the work successfully without interruption to the bank’s ongoing business operations.
The project also involved significant site work including an expansion of the existing parking lot, which was completely rebuilt to improve functionality, efficiency for the client and to accommodate rainwater mitigation requirements. The location of an active commuter rail line adjacent to the worksite added to the overall project complexity.
